Step into the world of Claude Monet in this immersive, four-week painting course! Perfect for all skill levels, this semi-private class explores Monet’s iconic works from the iconic Giverny Gardens. We will learn his techniques and practice the magic of Impressionism.
Each week, we’ll dive into Monet and the story of Impressionist Painting: his brushwork, color choices, and approach to light and atmosphere, and how to paint his beautiful garden scenes. You’ll start by painting a master copy of one of Monet’s famous works to understand his process, then apply those techniques to create your own original Impressionist-inspired painting. We will work in acrylics for this class!
Through guided instruction, you’ll learn:
- How Monet captured light and movement
- Impressionist brush techniques and color blending
- The power of loose, expressive strokes
We’ll meet Tuesdays from 6-8PM for four weeks (March 3, 10, 17, 24). The course fee covers all four sessions.
We ask that you provide your own materials for this class - I will send you a list of suggested materials after you sign up. This way, you have everything you need to keep practicing and playing on your own between group meetings. After registering, you will receive an email with the necessary supplies as well as a course outline. Please email Teresa Pruitt (tmpruitt@vinoandvangogh.net) with any questions or concerns!
Spots are limited to allow for individual instruction, so sign up now to secure your place!
