The Great Artists Series with Betsy Beach. These fun classes for kids - and their parents if they would like to join in - are a three part study of Matisse (March), Van Gogh (April), Monet (May). Students/families can register for one, two or all three classes.
Each class will include a discussion of the artist’s intent and how his technique enabled him to achieve his vision.
VAN GOGH, Saturday, April 4, 2-4pm
This class will focus on Vincent Van Gogh’s drawings. Van Gogh made countless sketches and completed over 1,000 drawings mostly in the last few years of his short life, often making drawings from his paintings. He is unquestionably one of the greatest draftsmen of all time. The discussion will include an analysis of Van Gogh's technique. Students will create their own Van Gogh image in a black and white printing process.
