I was so excited to be invited to teach a group of fifth graders at Hollis Elementary an art class. I gathered together with the kids to paint a vase of flowers that they will wrap up to give to moms, Grandmothers, aunts, or close friends for Mothers Day in May. This homeroom is a special bunch, and I was so honored to spend time with them talking art. I strongly feel that if you can get children at a young age and make art fun and approachable, you can give them a life long love of it.
Check out some of the paintings these kids created:

I love these flowers!

I loved this little girl's use of dots

I think giving back to our community is the perfect way to continue to grow Greenville into the great place that it is.
I hope a few seeds were planted with these kids in our art class. As you can tell, they were a talented bunch.
